The matching engine
ReconIQ matches in ordered passes, strictest first. Exact matches clear immediately. Tolerance passes handle the realities of custodian data — rounding, near-identical descriptions, one-to-many aggregation where several postings roll up to a single line. On top of the built-in passes, your team defines its own rules for the situations it knows well, and those run as part of every reconciliation. Configuration, not code changes.
The noise filter
Not everything unmatched is a break. ReconIQ learns the recurring artifacts of your feeds — timing differences, self-clearing accruals, known custodian quirks — and sets them aside with a labelled reason before they reach the grid. Set-aside items stay counted in run totals, visible on demand and reversible with one click. If your team brings one back, the filter learns.
Two numbers keep it honest, published monthly: how many items the filter removed from the daily view, and how many a person had to bring back. The first shows it's saving time; the second shows it's staying safe.
AI that suggests — never decides
ReconIQ's AI looks at genuinely unmatched items the way an experienced operations analyst would: clustering related records, weighing amounts, dates and securities, and proposing pairings with a confidence score and a written reason for each.
You set the confidence threshold. Above it, suggestions are applied automatically — each with its confidence, match type and reasoning stored permanently. Below it, suggestions wait in a review queue with accept and reject buttons, and a rejection is recorded with the reviewer's reason. Raise the threshold for maximum control, lower it as trust builds. Either way, a real difference between the records is never resolved by the AI — it waits for a person.
Control and compliance
Every action in ReconIQ — automated or human — lands on a permanent audit trail: who, what, when, and why. Sign-off is maker-checker. Break ageing and fingerprinting mean persistent items surface themselves instead of relying on memory. The platform runs on Microsoft Azure and is architected for FCA and GDPR compliance from the start, like everything we build.
